It is your job to run the parish. Because you stand in the position of Christ as head of the Church, you are the leader. You must act with authority and be someone your parishioners can rely on. You must be stable, reasonable, and an active decision maker. You are the face of the parish. 

You spend many hours every week administering Sacraments: daily Mass, Confession, visits to the sick. And many more hours are spent serving your parish in hidden ways. Budget meetings, homily prep, and countless moments spending your time, energy, and attention. 

If you did not care for the flock of Christ, you would not be a priest. You have given everything, surrendered to the will of the Father, all for the care of souls out of love for Him. Every person you encounter at donuts, every hand you shake after Sunday Mass, you desire to share the love of God.
